Stake ETH in the Ledger Enterprise Vault

A step-by-step guide on how to stake ETH in the Ledger Enterprise Vault via WalletConnect.

This article shows you how to stake ETH in the Ledger Enterprise Vault using the Blockdaemon Staking API.

Step 1. Connect with WalletConnect

  1. Log in to the Blockdaemon app.
  2. Go to Staking > Protocols menu.
  3. Select Stake from the Ethereum protocol.
  4. Click on Start Staking within the Staking option.
  5. Click Connect Wallet.
  6. Choose the desired Network from the available options. For this guide, select Goerli.
  7. Connect your wallet with WalletConnect and choose Copy Link to copy the WalletConnect URL.

Step 2. Navigate to Your Ledger Enterprise Vault Account

  1. Log in to your Ledger Enterprise Vault account.
  2. In the left-hand menu, go to DApps.
  3. Choose Wallet Connect in the Apps Catalog.
  4. Paste the WalletConnect URL at the bottom of the page.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Select your desired Ethereum network.
  7. Confirm the connection and return to the Blockdaemon app to see if your wallet is connected.

Step 3. Stake ETH

  1. Specify the staking amount using the slider.
  2. Set the fee recipient address for your staked ETH.
  3. Specify the withdrawal address for your staked ETH.

Note

Verify that all fields are correct, and ensure the withdrawal address matches the one within your Ledger Vault.

  1. Click Stake to proceed.
  2. Review and confirm all the staking details.
  3. Wait for the validator purchase process to complete, then return your Ledger Enterprise Vault account.

Step 4. Create Transaction

  1. Select Wallet Connect in the DApps menu.
  2. Optionally, fill in the name and comments on the transaction.
  3. Review the filled information, such as:
    1. From: The source network.
    2. Max Fees: The fees for the staking Transaction on the chain.
    3. Max Total: The total amount of ETH for validators
  4. Click Create Transaction.

Step 5. Approve Transaction

In this step, we will utilize the Ledger Physical Security Device (PSD) for a two-person approval process:

First Person

  1. Approve the Transaction on your device.

Second Person

  1. Navigate to the Requests menu on the Ledger Vault account.
  2. Click Review on PSD in the awaiting approval list.
  3. Review and accept the Transaction from your Ledger device.
  4. The Transaction is now approved, signed, and broadcasted.

Step 6. Monitor Transaction

You can monitor the Transaction through the following:

  • Ledger Vault Dashboard > Operations Menu: View the last executed transaction.
  • Ledger Vault Dashboard > Accounts Menu: Check the updated balance and remaining confirmations.
  • Goerli Testnet Beacon Chain Explorer: View the Transaction and validator status in real time.
