# Stake ATOM

Learn how to stake ATOM with your connected wallet.

This article provides a brief guide for staking ATOM using the Cosmos (ATOM) Dashboard.

> ❗️ Important Notes
>
> * The minimum stake amount is **1 ATOM**.
> * When staking ATOM, your rewards are not automatically restaked. In order to restake rewards you must go through the [withdraw rewards](https://docs.blockdaemon.com/docs/withdraw-rewards-1) flow followed by the stake flow.
> * Ensure to have enough ATOM in your connected wallet to cover gas fees.

Follow the steps outlined below:

## Step 1. Access Staking Page

1. Go to **Wallets & Staking** > **Staking** menu.
2. Staking can be initiated from the Cosmos card as shown below via the **Stake** button and is also available from the **Dashboard**.

## Step 2. Connect Wallet

1. Connect your wallet from the available wallet options. This will take you to your wallet account and dashboard, where you will be prompted to connect to the Blockdaemon app.

> If you do not see your desired wallet, click **View All**.

2. Upon successful connection, you'll see your wallet's information at the top right of the page.

## Step 3. Stake ATOM

1. Enter the staking amount. This will update the values in the **Transaction Summary** box.

>
> Ensure you have enough balance to cover the gas fees.

2. Click **Stake** to initiate the transaction and follow the on-screen prompts.

## Step 4. Confirm the Transaction

A transaction is created. This process generates an unsigned transaction transferring designated ATOM tokens from your wallet to the Cosmos network.

1. Sign the transaction in your wallet.
2. Wait for confirmation. The Cosmos Network is confirming the transaction.

## Step 5. Transaction Complete

Transaction complete. View your updated Total Staked on the dashboard.

> Your stake actions may not reflect immediately on the dashboard, as:
>
> * data is updated every 24 hours
> * you need to connect your wallet manually to the Cosmos dashboard to view your active/pending staked amounts and rewards
